Neuro Ophthalmologist - Texas Medical Center
The Neuro Ophthalmologist provides expert medical care to diagnose and treat visual deficiencies and diseases of the eye. Responsibilities include conducting routine eye exams, referring patients to specialists, performing diagnostic testing, managing hospital day call consults, and leading clinical and patient quality initiatives to ensure consistent clinical performance and practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide expert medical care to patients to diagnose and treat visual deficiencies defects of the eye and diagnose and medically manage diseases of the eye
- • Conduct routine eye examinations on patients
- • Refer patients to medical specialists
- • Perform and interpret diagnostic testing and neuro treatment plans, based on their condition
- • Manage and perform Hospital day call consults in a triage and referral to neuro fellows and subspecialty attendings role (.4 fte)
- • Provide leadership, knowledge, and experience from a management perspective on clinical and patient quality initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the hospital
- • Assure safe and reliable processes are embedded into the delivery of health care
- • Develop a culture which values patient safety, clinical excellence, evidence-based medicine, and continuous learning
- • Serve as a role model for I CARE values, fostering a culture of unparalleled safety, quality, service, and innovation
