This role involves providing primary care exclusively in collaboration with internal medicine residents within an academic residency clinic. The faculty physician focuses on teaching, mentorship, and academic medicine while maintaining clinical responsibilities without managing an independent patient panel.

Key Responsibilities

Required
  • MD or DO
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)
  • Passion for medical education, teaching, and mentorship
  • Interest in academic medicine and community‑based care

Position Overview

St. Vincent’s Medical Center, in partnership with Southwest Family Health Center, is seeking a Primary Care Faculty Physician to join the Internal Medicine Residency Program clinic in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This is an outstanding opportunity for a physician interested in teaching, mentorship, and academic medicine while maintaining a strong clinical focus—without the responsibility of managing an independent patient panel.

Faculty physicians provide primary care exclusively in collaboration with internal medicine residents and play a key role in shaping the next generation of physicians within a supportive, academically rich environment.

Position Highlights

  • 90%25 Clinical Precepting / 10%25 Administrative
    • Approx. ½‑day per week protected admin time
  • No independent patient panel - Clinical work is performed with residents only
  • Monday–Friday schedule, No weekends
  • No call
  • Academic faculty appointment at the Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter School of Medicine

  • Residency continuity clinic located at Southwest Community Health Center
