Collaborating Psychiatrist

This role involves serving as a Collaborating / Supervising Physician for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) in a flexible, primarily non-clinical capacity focused on oversight, collaboration, and quality assurance within a fully remote care model serving Medicaid populations. The position emphasizes structured supervision, collaboration with integrated behavioral health teams, and contributing to clinical quality and protocol development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide required physician collaboration/supervision to assigned PMHNPs
  • Conduct regular chart reviews to ensure clinical quality, appropriate prescribing, and documentation integrity
  • Meet with PMHNPs to discuss complex cases, diagnostic questions, and treatment planning
  • Provide real-time and asynchronous consultation on challenging or escalating patient presentations
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, prescribing guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives
Required
  • Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in Massachusetts
  • Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of collaborative practice requirements for PMHNPs
  • Experience treating diverse psychiatric conditions across the lifespan
  • Comfort with telehealth models, EHR-based chart review, and remote communication tools

  • Experience supervising or collaborating with PMHNPs
  • Strong clinical judgment across a range of psychiatric presentations and populations
