The role involves practicing pediatric interventional radiology at a tertiary referral center, providing a broad spectrum of interventional cases including vascular access, biopsies, drain/tube placement, and management of vascular malformations. The position includes opportunities for leadership, education, research, and serving as primary teaching faculty for the UT Dell Medical School radiology residency program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practice at a tertiary referral center with broad spectrum of interventional cases
  • Work with a team including a pediatric IR APP and additional hires to support section needs
  • Utilize subspecialty support available for pediatric diagnostic exams and neuro-interventional radiology
  • Share approximately q5-6 call frequency equally by the section
  • Perform after-hours procedures with a generous hourly callback stipend
  • Engage in opportunities for leadership, education, and research
  • Hold leadership positions within the practice and at contract sites
  • Serve as primary teaching faculty for the UT Dell Medical School radiology residency program
  • Provide pediatric radiology care to additional contract sites within the greater Austin and Central Texas area
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary vascular anomalies clinic twice a month
Required
  • Board certified or Board-eligible in Diagnostic or Interventional Radiology by the ABR
  • Completion of pediatric IR fellowship or formal experience in pediatric IR

    Our practice is seeking a skilled, motivated pediatric interventional radiologist for a partnership track position to expand our section of pediatric and interventional radiologists currently providing pediatric care in Central Texas. The section’s primary pediatric practice site is Dell Children’s Medical Center, a 248-bed state of the art freestanding pediatric facility serving a 45+ county area and houses the region’s only level I pediatric trauma center as well as a level IV NICU. Recent expansions include additional capacity for cardiovascular and pediatric ICU services as well as a comprehensive fetal care center. Solid organ transplant programs are under development. The group provides pediatric radiology care to additional contract sites within the greater Austin and Central Texas area. A multidisciplinary vascular anomalies clinic meets twice a month, providing a robust referral base.

    We practice a broad spectrum of pediatric interventional care, including vascular access, biopsies, drain/tube placement, GU and hepatobiliary procedures, arterial and venous interventions, and management of vascular malformations. The ideal candidate should also be comfortable with general diagnostic radiology, adult or pediatric, depending on training background. The practice features 24/7 support staff, robust IT infrastructure, and a collegial working environment. We are especially proud of our close partnership with our referring providers and the critical role we play in providing radiology services to the ever-growing pediatric population of Central Texas.

    ARA Diagnostic Imaging (Austin Radiological Association) is a nationally renowned radiology practice with a 70+ year history of providing exceptional service and clinical care to the patients of Austin and Central Texas. We are one of the largest radiology groups in the country, with 110+ radiologists across all subspecialties.

    ARA serves 24 hospitals and operates 17 outpatient imaging centers in Central Texas. ARA partners with Dell Medical School at the University of Texas, helping to redefine how diagnostic testing is designed, delivered, and leveraged to improve health. ARA physicians serve as the radiology faculty for University of Texas Dell Medical School. As such, the practice also runs the ACGME residency program and radiologists have opportunities to teach residents, fellows, and medical students.

    Compensation

    The salary range for this position is $500,000-$1,000,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
