General Cardiologist Greater Austin Area

This role is for a general, noninvasive cardiologist in the Greater Austin area with a primary practice location in Pflugerville. The position focuses on outpatient and inpatient consultative cardiology, including comprehensive cardiology care and collaboration with invasive cardiology and hospitalist teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive cardiology care including 2D Echocardiography
  • Comprehensive cardiology care including Stress Echocardiography
  • Comprehensive cardiology care including Exercise and Pharmacologic Stress Testing
  • Comprehensive cardiology care including Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
  • Inpatient consultative cardiology services only
  • Collaborative care with invasive cardiology team
  • Collaborative care with on-site cardiac catheterization laboratory
Required
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist
  • Doctorate Degree in Medicine, MD or DO
  • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board by start date
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Where applicable, the employee must be board certified in their specialty. Alternatively, they must show effective pursuit of board certification as defined by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists.
Preferred
  • Pacemaker implant skills welcome (but optional)
  • APP support can be considered with practice growth
  • Both experienced physicians and new graduates are encouraged to apply

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in the Greater Austin area, with a primary practice location in Pflugerville, just minutes from downtown Austin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated cardiologist to join a well-supported, collegial practice within one of the largest not-for-profit healthcare systems in Texas. Both experienced physicians and new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Position Highlights

  • Practice Type: Noninvasive/General Cardiology
  • Location: Greater Austin area (Pflugerville-based practice)
  • Call Schedule: Approximately 1:4 (q4)
    • Light overnight call, handled remotely
  • Clinical Focus: Outpatient and inpatient consultative cardiology
    • No primary admitting service
    • 24/7 hospitalist team manages admissions
Clinical Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive cardiology care including:
    • 2D Echocardiography
    • Stress Echocardiography
    • Exercise and Pharmacologic Stress Testing
    • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
  • Inpatient consultative cardiology services only
  • Pacemaker implant skills welcome (but optional)
  • Collaborative care with:
    • Invasive cardiology team
    • On-site cardiac catheterization laboratory

  • In-house cath lab providing full interventional support
  • APP support can be considered with practice growth

Qualifications
