Key Responsibilities
- • Manage inpatient admissions, daily rounds, and discharges.
- • Provide expert consultations for emergency department pediatric cases.
- • Coordinate care plans with primary pediatricians and specialists.
- • Stabilize and prepare patients requiring transfer to intensive care.
- • Lead pediatric resuscitation or rapid response protocols if activated.
Required
- • Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist
- • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- • Successful completion of an accredited Pediatrics residency program.
- • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics.
- • Eligibility for an unrestricted Louisiana medical license.
- • Active Federal DEA registration.
- • Current PALS and NRP certifications

Willis Knighton Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our dedicated pediatric inpatient team at Willis Knighton South in Shreveport, LA. This role delivers comprehensive, high-quality care to pediatric patients within a collaborative, physician-led environment.
Schedule and Coverage
- Rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off.
- Team Structure: 4-physician rotation model.
- Day Shifts: In-house floor management and admissions.
- Night Shifts: Unrestricted call from home.
- Newborn Nursery: Q4 weekend unassigned nursery coverage at Willis Knighton South. Paid unassigned nursery shifts at Willis Knighton Pierremont.
- Competitive Shift + wRVU compensation on both day and night shifts.
- Unassigned Nursery Call compensation. Minimum of 4 days paid unassigned nursery call per month.
- Unit Size: 24-bed dedicated pediatric inpatient unit.
- Environment: Modern community health system with robust subspecialty support.
