The Senior Medical Writer proactively executes medical communication and healthcare consultancy projects, ensuring alignment to client objectives and overall brand/medical strategy. The role serves as a key scientific contact for internal teams and clients, with a primary focus on generating content, supporting project-level mentorship, and contributing to business development.
Key Responsibilities
- • Independently drive content development for dedicated accounts.
- • Slide decks
- • Primary and secondary manuscripts
- • Review articles
- • Abstracts
- • Posters
- • Oral presentations
- • Congress materials
- • Publication extenders and derivative content
- • Delivers well-written materials that are scientifically and technically accurate for review
- • Creates project content is of the highest quality, technically accurate, and aligned with the goals and objectives of the project brief
- • Has expert knowledge of client review and approval systems (eg, Veeva and DataVision)
- • Support execution of a wide range of projects across teams and therapeutic areas
- • Communicate regularly and clearly with internal cross-functional stakeholders
- • Provide project-level mentorship as appropriate to less experienced team members
- • Other tasks as assigned
Required
- • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) required
- • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical communications industry
- • Strong experience developing publications and congress-related materials for pharmaceutical or biotech clients
- • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook

At the more experienced levels, the Senior Medical Writer can serve as a project-level mentor across a range of projects. The Senior Medical Writer also contributes to business development from both organic and new client perspectives with a focus on primary research supporting the broader team.
