Urgent Care for Children

Pediatrician

This role focuses on delivering timely evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for non-emergent pediatric illnesses and injuries in an urgent care setting. The Pediatrician also applies clinical judgment, communicates clearly with families, and collaborates with Advanced Practice Clinicians to support care in accordance with state regulations and organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver timely evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for non-emergent pediatric illnesses and injuries.
  • Apply sound clinical judgment to determine appropriate interventions, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care plans.
  • Clearly and compassionately educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps.
  • Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient encounters in compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Clinicians, providing oversight, guidance, and support in accordance with state regulations and organizational standards.
Required
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • active Alabama medical license
  • Board-Certified in Pediatrics or Family Medicine
  • current CPR and PALS certifications required
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate families and work effectively within a team
Preferred
  • Minimum 2 years in pediatrics or urgent care preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, ability to provide evidence-based care, and comfort managing a wide range of acute pediatric cases
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and common software tools

POSITION OVERVIEW 

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Urgent Care for Children has been serving patients from birth through age 21 since 2017. With eight UCA-accredited clinics, we are committed to delivering evidence-based pediatric care and ensuring seamless follow-up with primary care providers.

We are seeking Pediatrician to join our compassionate team at our Huntsville or Madison, AL clinic. This role is ideal for motivated clinicians who thrive in fast-paced settings, love working with kids, and want to make a meaningful impact in pediatric care, with both Full-Time and PRN opportunities available. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

As an Pediatrician at Urgent Care for Children you will focus on:   

  • Acute Pediatric Care: Deliver timely evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for non-emergent pediatric illnesses and injuries.
  • Clinical Decision Making: Apply sound clinical judgment to determine appropriate interventions, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care plans.
  • Family Centered Communication: Clearly and compassionately educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and next steps.
  • Documentation: Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient encounters in compliance with clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Serve as a collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Clinicians, providing oversight, guidance, and support in accordance with state regulations and organizational standards.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: 

  • Education & Certification: MD or DO from an accredited medical school; active Alabama medical license; Board-Certified in Pediatrics or Family Medicine; current CPR and PALS certifications required 
  • Experience & Skills: Minimum 2 years in pediatrics or urgent care preferred. Strong clinical judgment, ability to provide evidence-based care, and comfort managing a wide range of acute pediatric cases. Proficiency with EMR systems and common software tools.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate families and work effectively within a team.
  • Full-Time Schedule & Hours: clinicians work 16 shifts per month. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday 12:00–8:00 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with some flexibility and occasional coverage at other clinics. (Hours subject to operational needs.)
  • PRN Schedule & Hours: Monday–Friday 12:00–8:00 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (PRN shifts are scheduled within these hours as needed).
  • Clinic Environment: Clinics feature on-site x-ray, rapid testing (flu, RSV, etc.), and lab services. Locations are in vibrant and family-friendly communities.

Zarminali Pediatrics/Urgent Care for Children is a national organization, and compensation is determined using market-informed data, including industry benchmarks. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location, local market conditions, state-specific factors, and individual qualifications, including years of experience, education, and scope of responsibility. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity. This role may also be eligible for additional productivity or performance-based bonus incentives.
