Podiatrist - Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 8 am - 7 pm

Diagnose and treat diseases and deformities of the human foot, including using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results. The role includes prescribing treatments, performing surgery, advising patients on foot care, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and specialist services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results.
  • Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery.
  • Surgically treat conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, tumors, shortened tendons,bunions, cysts, and abscesses.
  • Advise patients about treatments and foot care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems.
  • Take responsibility for a number of specialist areas of practice working with a variety client groups (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis/ chronic disease, high risk diabetes, chronic neuropathy, vascular diseases, wound management/tissue viability, biomechanics, nail surgery).
  • Refer patients to physicians when symptoms indicative of systemic disorders, such as arthritis or diabetes, are observed in feet and legs during exams.
  • Make and fit prosthetic appliances.
  • Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affect the feet and ankles.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise with other staff and disciplines, attend case conferences, and meetings as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with team members, hospital staff and specialist services to ensure an integrated service for clients.
  • Work independently as well as part of a wider healthcare team.
Required
  • Must have a California license and X-Ray / fluoroscopy license.
Preferred
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine preferred.
  • Preferred experience in trauma cases and rear foot & ankle surgery.
  • Board Qualified/Certified by American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons with 3 years surgical residency / fellowship trained preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish is helpful.
  • Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant candidates with a Specialty in Podiatry are encouraged to apply.
