This role provides direct patient care in a correctional facility, including examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment. It also involves prescribing medications, maintaining medical records, referring patients to specialists, and coordinating care with nursing and support staff.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide and manage direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for patients in a correctional facility
- • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens, as appropriate, to assessed medical conditions
- • Maintain medical records and charts documenting all medical services rendered
- • Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components, as appropriate
- • Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required
Required
- • Current state license as a MD/DO
- • Board Certified or Board Eligible
- • Current DEA license
- • Current CPR certificate
- • Proficient with electronic medical records
- • Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
