1 wk. on/2 wks. off - Anesthesiologist - Riverside Regional Medical Center - Night Float
This role provides anesthesia care in a collaborative care team model for a diverse and challenging case mix, including general, endo, vascular, neuro, radiology, thoracic, urology, cardiac, bariatric, orthopedic, plastics ENT, OB, and GYN. The position follows a night float schedule with 1 week on and 2 weeks off, and involves directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department as well as managing patients through the full anesthesia process.
Key Responsibilities
- • Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- • Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- • Pre-anesthesia assessment
- • Obtain and/or verify patient consent
- • Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- • Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- • Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- • Performance of clinical intervention as needed
Required
- • M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- • ECFMG and FLEX
- • Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- • Currently licensed as a physician

Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA, provides the newest medical technology in a healing environment. It is the most comprehensive facility of its kind on the Virginia Peninsula. This short-term acute care hospital with 300 beds is a voluntary nonprofit and a member of Riverside Health System. The hospital features a neonatal intensive care unit with 21 beds and neonatologists located on-site.
