Medical Director

Provide clinical leadership and oversight for medical assistance, patient care coordination, and medical transportation services supporting TRICARE Overseas Program beneficiaries. The role focuses on regional clinical operations, complex medical case direction, quality assurance, and collaboration with internal teams, healthcare providers, and client stakeholders in a fast-paced global environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and oversight for regional clinical operations and patient care services
  • Provide direction on complex and escalated medical cases, including inpatient and medical transport cases
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and clinical case reviews
  • Collaborate with internal teams, healthcare providers, and client stakeholders to ensure high standards of care
  • Support provider education, process improvement, and medical team development
  • Participate in operational meetings, training, and regional support initiatives
Required
  • MD or DO with an unrestricted medical license
  • 10+ years of clinical experience
  • Previous leadership or team management experience
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and operational management skills
  • Periodic regional and occasional international travel is required for meetings, conferences, site visits and operational support
Preferred
  • Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, ICU, Family Medicine, or related backgrounds preferred
  • Military or international healthcare experience preferred
  • Spanish language preferred, no required

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced physician leader to join our U.S. Government Services team as the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) Medical Director supporting the Latin America & Canada region (and other locations as directed). Based in our San Antonio Regional Contact Centre, this role provides clinical leadership and oversight for medical assistance, patient care coordination, and medical transportation services supporting TRICARE Overseas Program beneficiaries.

This position is ideal for a physician with strong clinical judgment, leadership experience, and a passion for operational medicine and patient advocacy in a fast-paced global environment.

This is a full-time in person role located in San Antonio, TX. The hours are 8 am until 5 pm Monday to Friday (on-call until 8 pm during weekday evenings).
