Assistant Professor, Transplant Hepatology - Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School

This role focuses on advancing the liver disease clinical program and expanding the liver transplant pool while supporting clinical investigative programs. The position also involves building relationships and clinical activities across partner facilities and developing new transplant hepatology clinics in target locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and evolve the growth of our liver disease clinical program which in turn will expand the liver transplant pool and support clinical investigative programs within the Ertan Digestive Disease Center at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and UTHealth Houston.
  • Develop relationships and clinical activities in partner facilities within the Memorial Hermann system with a concentration on providing Hepatology expertise and transplant evaluations in areas where we currently do not have a clinical presence.
  • Develop between two to three new transplant hepatology clinics at target locations in the Texas Medical Center and the Houston area.
Required
  • M.D. degree
  • Board-certified or board-eligible, or possess equivalent qualifications through an approved pathway toward U.S. board certification
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship program, or equivalent advanced GI/hepatology training from a recognized international program
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence, discovery, and service
  • Have the potential to be outstanding in their field of expertise
  • Share an interest in fulfilling the common goals of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is recruiting an Assistant Professor, focusing on Transplant Hepatology.

Position Key Accountabilities:
