VP of Provider Enablement and Innovation

Leads the enterprise strategy and execution for Provider Experience across the digital product portfolio, advancing technology-enabled solutions that improve provider workflows, efficiency, decision-making, and care delivery. Oversees product leaders and cross-functional partnerships to drive adoption, value realization, and measurable improvements in patient safety, patient outcomes, and clinical innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the enterprise strategy for the Provider Experience domain, spanning clinical and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap that translates business priorities into scalable digital solutions.
  • Oversee a portfolio of digital products, ensuring alignment across ambient documentation and emerging innovation areas.
  • Directly manage Product leaders (Directors) ensuring clear accountability and coordination across the domain.
  • Partner and advise VPs leading domains and technical solutions that drive outcomes that improve patient safety, patient outcomes, provider engagement, and improvements to care team experiences that effectively scale across the enterprise.
  • Drive innovation in AI-enabled use cases that improve clinical decision-making and reduce provider burden.
  • Ensure all DT&I solutions are deeply embedded into provider workflows through strong partnership with Expanse and other clinical systems.
  • Lead enterprise adoption strategies to ensure solutions deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, safety, and experience.
  • Serve as the primary DT&I leader representing Provider Experience to HBS, clinical leadership, and enterprise stakeholders.
  • Partner with the President of HBS to scale solutions and expand capabilities to additional care team roles, including nursing and allied health staff.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), setting priorities, aligning resources, and communicating progress to DT&I governance and business sponsors.
  • Manage resource allocation across product teams to align with evolving strategic priorities.
  • Establish and monitor OKRs that measure impact across provider efficiency, patient safety, and clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure solutions are designed, implemented, and scaled with a focus on measurable value and ROI.
  • Coach and develop product leaders, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.
  • Enable teams to operate effectively within agile, cross-functional pod structures.
Required
  • 15+ years of clinical experience (physician strongly preferred), with at least 5+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Deep expertise in provider workflows and clinical operations across inpatient, ED, and ambulatory settings
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale digital product initiatives, including successful deployment and adoption
  • Proven ability to lead through complexity in matrixed healthcare environments
  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including AI/ML, generative AI, and data-driven decision support
  • Experience with product operating models, including MVP development and iterative delivery
  • Medical degree (either MD or DO)
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes
  • Ability to operate at the intersection of innovation, scalability, and value realization
  • Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities, particularly within product and technology organizations
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a focus on driving impact quickly
  • Proven ability to drive adoption and change management across large, complex organizations

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Vice President of Provider Enablement and Innovation within Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) is a Domain Leader responsible for owning and advancing the end-to-end Provider Experience across the DT&I digital product portfolio. This role sets the strategic vision and drives execution of technology-enabled solutions that transform the provider experience to improve and elevate the frontline experience.

This leader oversees a portfolio that includes solutions that drive patient quality, ambient documentation, handoffs, clinical decision support, and future innovations that enhance provider efficiency, decision-making, and care delivery. The role is accountable for ensuring that all digital products integrate seamlessly into provider workflows, in close partnership with Expanse and other enterprise platforms.

The Vice President will lead a multi-layered product organization that include Director-level Product Owners responsible for driving technical product strategy, vision, roadmap, and requirements. This role serves as the enterprise leader representing Provider Experience within DT&I, partnering closely with the President of HCA Healthcare Services (HBS) and other senior leaders to scale solutions across the enterprise.

The position reports to the DT&I Chief Product Officer, with a dotted-line relationship to the President of HBS to ensure alignment on business priorities, adoption, and value realization.

Core Responsibilities:

Own Provider Experience Strategy

  • Define and lead the enterprise strategy for the Provider Experience domain, spanning clinical and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap that translates business priorities into scalable digital solutions.

Lead Product Portfolio & Organizational Structure

  • Oversee a portfolio of digital products, ensuring alignment across ambient documentation and emerging innovation areas.
  • Directly manage Product leaders (Directors) ensuring clear accountability and coordination across the domain.

Advance Patient Outcomes & Clinical Innovation

  • Partner and advise VPs leading domains and technical solutions that drive outcomes that improve patient safety, patient outcomes, provider engagement, and improvements to care team experiences that effectively scale across the enterprise.
  • Drive innovation in AI-enabled use cases that improve clinical decision-making and reduce provider burden.

Drive Workflow Integration & Adoption
