The role provides medical evaluations of suspected child abuse victims and child abuse consultations while splitting time between Child Abuse Pediatrics and either General Pediatrics or a subspecialty. It also involves multidisciplinary collaboration with the child abuse team, pediatric trauma team, community agencies, and academic teaching for medical students and residents.
Key Responsibilities

- • multidisciplinary team collaboration with the child abuse team at the CAC, the pediatric trauma team at GCH, and community agencies working to manage and prevent child abuse and neglect
- • provide children and families with the support they need
- • academic teaching duties for medical students and residents from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
Required
- • General or Subspecialty trained Pediatrician (i.e., Critical Care, Hospitalist Medicine)
- • interest and experience in Child Abuse Pediatrics

The Child Abuse Physician will provide medical evaluations of suspected child abuse victims at the Child Advocacy Center Buffalo (CAC) as well as child abuse consultations at GCH at Buffalo. Job duties include multidisciplinary team collaboration with the child abuse team at the CAC, the pediatric trauma team at GCH, and community agencies working to manage and prevent child abuse and neglect, and provide children and families with the support they need.
Care is provided in conjunction with academic teaching duties for medical students and residents from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment with the University commensurate to rank and experience.
