Psychiatrist

The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to patients across the lifespan within a Federally Qualified Health Center. The role supports integrated behavioral health care by collaborating with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and care management teams, while also providing medication management, individualized treatment planning, and crisis support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management for patients with mental health and co-occurring conditions for adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans consistent with evidence-based practices.
  • Provides substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment.
  • Provides crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
  • Adheres to FQHC standards, federal and state regulations, and clinical best practices.
Required
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school in the U.S.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Unrestricted Maine license to practice medicine
  • U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency registration with authorization to prescribe controlled substances
  • Must not have an active record on the System for Award Management (SAM) website
  • Must show proof of immunity or have been immunized for MMR, Hep B, Influenza (required annually) and the COVID primary series
Preferred
  • Experience working in an FQHC, community mental health center, or similar setting
  • Experience with telepsychiatry
  • Familiarity with trauma informed care and social determinants of health
  • Proficiency in the use of at least one ONC-certified electronic medical record system and basic Microsoft applications

Psychiatrist

Full or Part-Time

The Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to patients across the lifespan within a Federally Qualified Health Center. This role plays a key part in advancing integrated behavioral health care, collaborating closely with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and care management teams. The Psychiatrist:

  • Conducts psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management for patients with mental health and co-occurring conditions for adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans consistent with evidence-based practices.
  • Provides substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment. 
  • Provides crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed.
  • Adheres to FQHC standards, federal and state regulations, and clinical best practices.

Applicants must have a medical degree from an accredited medical school in the U.S., be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Have an unrestricted Maine license to practice medicine.
