This role is part of an integrated Care Management team that collaborates with executive leadership, clinical service chiefs, population health, access services, and health information management departments. The position supports timely utilization review, integrated assessments, and coordination of discharge planning needs.
Key Responsibilities

- • The Case Management department supports a triad model where social workers and nurse care managers work together to ensure timely utilization review and integrated assessments and coordination of discharge planning needs.
Required
- • Applicants must be a board-certified physician with 3-5 years of experience.
- • Education & Training: Doctorate degree in Medicine; Board-certified physician
- • Experience: Minimum of 3-5-years ongoing acute care practice is required.
- • Computer skills required.
- • Licensed MD or DO (valid license to practice in the State of Maryland)
Preferred
- • A background in Utilization Review, Case Management, Quality Assurance, or Performance Improvement processes is preferred.
- • Experience in Utilization Review, Case Management, Quality Assurance, or Performance Improvement processes is preferred.
- • Certification through the American College of Physicians Advisors (ACPA) is preferred

Job Description
The University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), is seeking a Full-time, experienced Physician Advisor to join its team in Towson, Maryland.
- University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center is a CMS 5-Star, Leapfrog Grade ‘A’ hospital and ranked the #1 community hospital in Maryland by U.S. News and World Report.
- Located in Towson, MD, University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center (UM SJMC) is a 180-bed tertiary complex care community hospital with more than 700 physicians on the medical staff. Its numerous areas of specialization include cardiology, cancer, orthopaedics, emergency care, obstetrics and gynecology, and comprehensive tertiary level surgical services.

Compensation
Pay Range: $240,000-$260,000 with additional incentive opportunity
