Medical services roles encompass a variety of positions involved in providing occupational healthcare services, clinical support, drug and alcohol testing oversight, and patient care within a clinical setting. Professionals in these roles deliver quality patient care, support medical staff, track trending problem areas/events, manage technical programs and ensure the efficient operation of healthcare facilities.

Discipline Description

Medical services roles encompass a wide range of responsibilities in occupational medicine programs, administration, and support. They support the medical department in providing medical care for the comfort and well-being of employees, and may maintain established inventory levels for medicines, supplies, and equipment. They provide additional services such as optometry, including basic vision and eyeglass care, and laboratory and substance-related testing. These positions also support the Human Reliability Program, program management, issue and data tracking and analysis, IT interface, medical program management, and other programmatic and technical functions to support operations.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include

• Provide direct assistance to the Director of Health, Safety and Medical in establishing, directing, and managing the overall Site Medical Services and Operations; ensure the implementation, compliance, and performance to DOE directives and SRS standards with respect to those programs.
• Act on behalf of the Director when required.
  
  

Responsible for integrating SRS Medical requirements into a balanced program within constrained resources. Develop a planning, programming, and budgeting process that operates under sound financial management principles for each budget cycle.

• Track and report on key performance indicators to measure the success of Site Medical programs. Identify potential risks to the program and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provide guidance in the development, direction, implementation and evaluation of the SRS M&O integrating contractor Site Medical Programs. This includes recommending and implementing site policies through the development and maintenance of SRID's, site procedures, and assessment criteria in these areas.
• Developing and implementing strategies to address revised regulations or regulatory issues of serious impact to Site Medical Programs including interacting with stakeholders to effect resolution that is cost effective and implementable across the Site.
• Determine program goals, resource needs, allocate resources, and accounts for their effective use; implement program strategies that align with customer objectives and mission requirements.
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports on program status, financial performance, and key metrics to senior officials and stakeholders.
• Provide technical and programmatic guidance and direction to personnel and subcontractors in accomplishing work.
• Provide on-call support on the off shift (evenings, nights and weekends) when rotating providers are unavailable.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Fifteen or more YOE as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed plus six or more years of
  
  

experience (YOE) in a relevant management role, OR

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus twelve or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles

• Master's Degree in a relevant field plus eight or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

• Hold South Carolina Medical license

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
