Principal Faculty-Medical Director--Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor
This role combines principal faculty teaching responsibilities with medical director duties in a physician assistant program. The position focuses on curriculum development, student assessment, accreditation compliance, clinical instruction, and supervision of practice experiences while supporting program development and PA profession advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide evidence-based guidance for all clinically related program components.
- • Assist with curriculum review, development, and improvement.

- • Represent the department in institutional and community activities.
Required
- • Licensed Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Physician (MD/DO) with current or previous board certification.
- • Completion of an ARC-PA-accredited PA program or LCME-accredited medical school.
- • 7–10 years of clinical experience.
- • Strong foundational medical knowledge and clinical expertise.
- • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
Preferred
- • Experience working with ECU and/or Brody School of Medicine.
- • Academic and clinical teaching experience.
- • Strong administrative and leadership experience.
- • Doctoral degree (MD/PhD or Clinical Doctorate).
- • Knowledge of current PA practice standards.
