This role provides virtual infectious disease consultations, follow-up care, and clinical expertise to patients and healthcare providers through a telemedicine platform. It involves collaborating with multidisciplinary and onsite care teams to diagnose and manage complex infectious diseases, guide antimicrobial stewardship, and support evidence-based, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities

Required
- • MD or DO degree required.
- • Minimum 3 years of experience in Infectious Disease.
- • Active DEA certification.
- • Board Certification in Infectious Disease.
Preferred
- • Telemedicine experience preferred but not required.

The Infectious Disease Specialist provides virtual consultations, follow-up care, and clinical expertise to patients and healthcare providers through Avel eCare's state-of-the-art telemedicine platform. This physician collaborates with multidisciplinary care teams to diagnose and manage complex infectious diseases, guide antimicrobial stewardship, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while enjoying the flexibility of a remote practice environment.
Exempt/Nonexempt: Exempt (Salaried)
Hours/FTE: 40 hours per week/1.0 FTE
Essential Functions
- Provide on-demand consultations via phone or video to partner facilities.
- Collaborate with onsite clinical staff to coordinate care for patients.
- Review patient results and make tailored recommendations.
- Offer provider-to-provider support through phone consults.
- MD or DO degree required.
