Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C. (PAGNY)
This role serves as a key clinical and administrative leader in the Department of Psychiatry, working closely with the Chief of Psychiatry to oversee operations, quality, workforce, and program development. It involves leading clinical operations across inpatient, emergency, and outpatient psychiatry services, supporting staffing and quality improvement, and contributing to department and system-wide behavioral health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- • Serve as a key clinical and administrative leader within the Department, working in close partnership with the Chief of Psychiatry to oversee operations, quality, workforce, and program development.
- • Oversee clinical operations across inpatient, emergency (CPEP), and outpatient psychiatry services.
- • Ensure adequate staffing models to support 24/7/365 coverage.
- • Partner with Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Activity and Medical Staff, as well as Administrative Leadership to optimize throughput, patient flow, and access.
- • Lead quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, regulatory compliance, and clinical outcomes.
- • Support implementation of system priorities including OMH, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.
- • Promote and foster a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
- • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of Psychiatry staff in collaboration with PAGNY.
- • Provide mentorship and supervision to Attending Psychiatrists, particularly early-career clinicians.
- • Participate in NYC Health + Hospitals system-wide Behavioral Health initiatives and committees as delegated by the Chief.
- • Assist the Chief in implementing these initiatives.
- • Support medical student, resident, and continuing education programs within the Department.
- • Collaborate with affiliated academic institutions as applicable.
- • Provide direct patient care as needed, based on Departmental needs and leadership assignment.

- The Department of Psychiatry has 3 Adult Inpatient Units, a satellite CPEP, a Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison service, a Partial Hospital Program, an Outpatient Department, and an ACT team.
