Physician: Infectious Disease Specialist - Remote (PRN)

Provide virtual infectious disease consultation, follow-up care, and clinical expertise to patients and healthcare providers through telehealth services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to diagnose and manage complex infectious diseases, guide antimicrobial stewardship, and deliver patient-centered care in a remote practice environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-demand consultations via phone or video to partner facilities.
  • Collaborate with onsite clinical staff to coordinate care for patients.
  • Review patient results and make tailored recommendations.
  • Offer provider-to-provider support through phone consults.
Required
  • MD or DO Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of active practice experience in Infectious Disease.
  • Board certification in Infectious Disease.
  • One active state license (in any US state).
Preferred
  • Telemedicine experience preferred but not required.
  • Multiple state licensures (supported by Avel eCare).

The Infectious Disease Specialist provides virtual consultation, follow-up care, and clinical expertise to patients and healthcare providers through Avel eCare's state-of-the-art telehealth services. This physician collaborates with multidisciplinary care teams to diagnose and manage complex infectious diseases, guide antimicrobial stewardship, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while enjoying the flexibility of a remote practice environment.

General Hours of Work: 16 daytime hours per week, 8 hours days with weekend coverage

Hours/FTE: PRN

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide on-demand consultations via phone or video to partner facilities.
  • Collaborate with onsite clinical staff to coordinate care for patients.
  • Review patient results and make tailored recommendations.
  • Offer provider-to-provider support through phone consults.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • MD or DO Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of active practice experience in Infectious Disease.
  • Telemedicine experience preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATION

  • Board certification in Infectious Disease.
  • One active state license (in any US state).
  • Multiple state licensures (supported by Avel eCare).
