Medical Director Vascular Surgery - Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital - Chicago's North Suburbs
The Medical Director will provide comprehensive vascular surgery services at two hospitals, manage the non-invasive vascular laboratory, and participate in service call, rounding, and pre/post-op patient care. The role also involves responding to consultation requests and referrals, and may include academic and research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- • Providing the full breadth of vascular surgery services in Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital and Grayslake Hospital
- • Providing comprehensive vascular care in the region and managing the non-invasive vascular laboratory
- • Service call, rounding and caring for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team
- • Responding to local consultation requests and referrals
Required
- • Strong background in clinical vascular and endovascular surgery
- • Completed an ACGME accredited vascular surgery fellowship program
- • Board certified in vascular surgery
- • At least three years post-fellowship experience as an attending vascular surgeon
- • Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States

Medical Director Vascular Surgery – Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital Chicago’s North Suburbs
Northwestern Medical Group (NMG) and Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute (BCVI) seek a full-time, Medical Director of Vascular Surgery in the North Region. Primary responsibilities include providing the full breadth of vascular surgery services in Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital and Grayslake Hospital. This position will be expected to provide comprehensive vascular care in the region and manage the non-invasive vascular laboratory. Expectations include service call, rounding and caring for pre-op and post-op patients in concert with the clinical team, and responding to local consultation requests and referrals. Preferred candidates will play a vital role in the growth and coordination of care and other distinctive programming throughout the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. This position will include an appointment as a Health System Clinician as an employed physician with the Northwestern Medical Group.
Qualified candidates must have a strong background in clinical vascular and endovascular surgery, have completed an ACGME accredited vascular surgery fellowship program, are board certified in vascular surgery, and have at least three years post-fellowship experience as an attending vascular surgeon. Vascular surgeons in this position may participate in academic programs of the Feinberg School of Medicine, including educational programs (e.g., teaching service, training, preceptorship, mentoring, etc.) or research programs (e.g., participation in clinical trials, referring patients for clinical trials, etc.). Salary is commensurate with experience.
