Podiatrist - Los Gatos, CA
Provides routine and referral podiatric services to patients, including examining legs and feet, treating bone, muscle, and joint disorders, performing wound care management, and advising patients on foot and ankle care. The role involves diagnosing diseases and deformities, prescribing treatments, and maintaining medical records, with a focus on helping patients return to activities they enjoy.
Key Responsibilities
- • Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases
- • Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
- • Perform Wound Care management
- • Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results
- • Prescribes medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery
- • Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems
- • Provide education/consultation to patients, family, and health care team
- • Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
- • Maintain appropriate medical records on assigned patients
Required
- • Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
- • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population
- • Fluent in Spanish
- • Be proficient with computers, and have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR database
- • Current License as a Podiatrist in the State of California
- • Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an Accredited School of Podiatry
- • Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program
Preferred
- • Minimum of three (3) years professional experience preferred
