Vice President, Healthcare Investment Banking

Chardan is seeking a Vice President with a strong healthcare background to join its Healthcare Banking team in New York. The team has built a reputation for its high-science approach to investment banking by being collaborative, supportive, highly productive, and focused on identifying disruptive technologies that can generate real value for society.

Job Responsibilities:

Our Vice Presidents play an integral role in evolving and enhancing client relationships, remaining active participants throughout the life of a transaction and beyond. They benefit from close partnership with our Partners and Managing Directors, with the opportunity to serve as both a client coverage banker and deal originator.

• Lead deal teams as the senior point of contact alongside senior members of the firm
• Drive origination, evaluation, and deal execution on both capital markets financings and M&A within the Healthcare sector
• Conduct ongoing company outreach and keep abreast of industry and company news in disruptive biotechnology areas of focus
• Work closely with senior and junior bankers on all aspects of transactions and business development work
• Oversee the drafting of internal and client-facing documents including management presentations, investor presentations, fairness opinions, and pitchbooks
• Prepare and contribute to delivery of client presentations
• Manage interactions with clients, lawyers, and other deal team members
• Actively manage and develop junior staff

Job Qualifications:

• 6+ years of investment banking or capital markets related experience, with a focus in Healthcare / Biopharma
• Bachelor's Degree or MBA from a well-respected university and a strong academic track record; an advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or other life sciences background) is a plus
• Current or prior Healthcare / biopharma investment banking, private equity, in-house M&A or valuation advisory experience is required
• Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team player interfacing with top company executives and senior management
• Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with a focus on modeling and valuation analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex science into clear commercial and financial narratives
• Effective process management abilities

The base salary range for this position is: $250,000 - $275,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. The total compensation package may also include benefits and the potential for an annual bonus consideration.
