Medical Oncologist
This role involves providing community-based general adult hematology/oncology care, covering benign hematology, solid tumors, and blood cancers. The physician will work in an outpatient setting with on-site infusion and radiation, supported by a fully staffed team and collaborative partnerships with Johns Hopkins and Maryland Proton Center. The position includes a shared call-coverage model with inpatient consults and rounding.
Key Responsibilities
- • Community-based general adult Hematology/Oncology practice (benign hematology, solid tumors, blood cancers)
- • Outpatient Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- • Facilities: 9 shared exam rooms; infusion and radiation on-site; embedded palliative care
- • Accredited & Collaborative: CoC accredited; partnership with Johns Hopkins and Maryland Proton Center
- • Team: Fully staffed – 2.5 Medical Oncologists, 1 PRN Medical Oncologist, 3.0 APPs. Currently supported by navigation, social work, dietary, research, and genetic counseling (hybrid model).
- • Volume & Call: 14-16 patients per day, shared call-coverage model to include inpatient consults and rounding (Hospitalists admit)
Required
- • Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required
- • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Required
- • Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required
- • Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required
- • Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine. Upon Hire Required
- • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency. Upon Hire Required
- • Fellowship in Hematology-Oncology. Upon Hire Required
- • Teaching skills.
