Teaching Hospitalist MD/DO - Hartford, CT
Provide comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients while supervising and teaching UConn residents and medical students. Participate in resident education, case discussions, and bedside teaching, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team. Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and help create a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients with a broad range of medical conditions.
- • Round with and supervise residents while providing clinical teaching and mentorship.
- • Participate in resident education, case discussions and bedside teaching.
- • Collaborate with specialists, advanced practice providers, nurses and other members of the care team.
- • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- • Participate in the academic and educational activities of the Department of Medicine.
- • Help create a supportive learning environment for residents and students.
Required
- • MD or DO
- • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- • Experience caring for acutely ill hospitalized adult patients
- • Strong interest in resident and medical student education
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
