Blue Clay Health
Blue Clay Health (Equity-First, Transitioning to Competitive Salary) | Healthcare Transformation Leader | Remote w/ National Reach
Blue Clay Health is building advanced systems to bring clarity, structure, and coordination to some of the most complex challenges in human health. We’re building the solution with the patient and their family at the center of care. Our goal as a venture-scale company is to simplify the navigation of complicated medical situations for patients, family, and providers, and provide a better way for those experiencing them to manage the overwhelming myriad of challenges in healthcare.
We started with a simple, powerful idea: what if families facing complex medical challenges had a dedicated, expert team in their corner, working collaboratively to meet their specific needs? Our practice, Ensemble, does just that. Through Ensemble, an AI-backed technology with both patient and provider platforms, a handpicked team of specialists is assembled to work collaboratively on a single patient’s needs, guided by individual priorities. This isn’t just about better care; it’s about restoring clarity and control to the patient, who often feels lost in the administrative chaos of the current system.
Ensemble was built as a model that operates outside the lines of the traditional system but is smart enough to work within it. Now, we're looking for a clinical co-founder to help us lead the charge.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a respected clinical leader, a board-certified physician (current/unrestricted license to practice medicine) who deeply understands the healthcare system because they’ve worked across its fault lines and seen its failures up close. You know the friction points between doctors, hospitals, and insurance companies because you’ve lived them. Your name carries weight in the industry, and your connections open doors. You most likely have a clinical specialty and have significant clinical experience.
As a co-founder, you’ll shape the product, validate its clinical workflows, and lead its integration into the healthcare economy, from provider partnerships to payer strategy. You'll also be our voice in the market, forging the partnerships and payer relationships that will bring this new model of care to a national scale. The CMO will be the lead engagement executive in sharing and promoting the use of our product to the medical and scientific communities, including respective organizations (AMA, ACOG, etc).
This is a rare opportunity to build something ambitious and enduring, without starting from scratch. The infrastructure is in place, the team is strong, and the vision is clear. We just need you.
Who You Are
- Clinically trained (MD, DO, or equivalent) with at least 15 years of experience across care delivery, clinical leadership, and healthcare strategy, bringing deep knowledge of clinical workflows, including assessment of changes in clinical outcomes, workflow efficiency, user satisfaction, and risk, healthcare technology, and regulatory compliance.
- You’re an established voice in healthcare. You’ve published, spoken on main stages, led national initiatives, advised health systems or policymakers, and/or shaped care delivery models others now follow. People in the industry know your name and respect your voice. You are an effective communicator with a proven ability to lead high-performance, cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and product designers, aligning clinical insight and technical execution to achieve results.
- Fluent in the system: you understand how payers, providers, employers, and regulators interact (and misfire), and know where to drive change. Well-connected and trusted, your relationships can accelerate partnerships, pilot programs, and payer and employer engagement. You’re able to translate complex concepts for potential investors, partners, and customers.
- Mission-aligned: you’re here to help fix the system, not critique it. You care deeply about patients and families, especially those dealing with fragmented or high-acuity care.
- Ready to co-build: you want real ownership, not just a title. You’re comfortable rolling up your sleeves and shaping both strategy and execution. You are focused on efficiency, value, and quality measures in how the business is operating.
What We’re Offering
- Co-founder-level equity and salary, structured to reflect your experience, involvement, and long-term alignment.
- A built foundation: we’re already post-product with a growing team, and a founder with deep entrepreneurial and capital markets experience with a perspective shaped by personal experience.
- A real seat at the table: you will help shape the business model, the care model, and how we go to market.
- A public-facing role representing Blue Clay Health at external conferences and presentations and serving as the “medical face” of the business to media, investors, partners, and customers.
- A unique opportunity to lead the reinvention of healthcare delivery for people who need it most.
