The role involves functioning as a night OB hospitalist managing residents in emergency room, OB triage, labor and delivery, and the OR. The physician will provide clinical teaching, complete OB and GYN consults, and perform minor GYN surgeries in a high acuity obstetrics setting.
Key Responsibilities
- • Management of residents as they evaluated and treat patients in the emergency room, OB triage, labor and delivery and the OR
- • Provide appropriate oversight and clinical teaching of medical students, residents and other learners
- • Complete OB and GYN consults, including those from the Emergency Department
- • Perform minor GYN surgeries
Required
- • Board-certified or Board-eligible OB/GYN (MD or DO)
- • Clinically motivated and have prior experience in a high acuity obstetrics setting
- • An exceptional communicator
- • Devoted to providing quality, patient-centered care
- • Strongly interested in resident and medical student education

Henry Ford St. John Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN Hospitalist Physician to function as a night OB hospitalist at St. John Hospital, working 11 shifts per month. Shifts range from 11-14 hours.
St. John Hospital offers level III perinatal services (Maternal Fetal Medicine and Neonatology), 24-hour anesthesia coverage and averages 250 deliveries per month. All OB/GYN specialties are represented in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology which includes a 16-resident ACGME-accredited training program and a clinically strong OB/GYN generalist service.
