Position Title: Medical Science Liaison – Oncology


Territory: Southeast Region (AL, FL, GA, MS, TN)


Position Summary:


This field-based role is responsible for engaging healthcare professionals and scientific experts in meaningful scientific exchange to support the company’s oncology medical strategy. The Medical Science Liaison will serve as a key conduit for information between the medical community and internal teams, contributing critical insights to inform clinical and commercial initiatives. The role is particularly focused on supporting product launch readiness and execution in oncology and maintaining robust relationships with key opinion leaders.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Establish and maintain strong, strategic relationships with national, regional, and local oncology KOLs and HCPs aligned with the company’s medical strategy.
  • Conduct scientific exchange on topics including disease state, mechanism of action, emerging clinical data, and evolving treatment landscapes in oncology.
  • Provide scientific support to cross-functional field teams, including sales professionals, by contributing medical insight, education, and training.
  • Support pre-launch planning and post-launch activities through impactful field medical engagement and the collection of actionable insights.
  • Facilitate internal awareness of scientific trends, unmet needs, and competitive intelligence through regular communication and reporting.
  • Identify and support potential clinical trial sites and investigators in collaboration with clinical development and operations teams.
  • Attend relevant scientific conferences to remain current on medical and industry developments and to represent the organization in professional settings.
  • Deliver approved presentations to external and internal audiences and provide support for external investigator-sponsored research (ISR) submissions.
  • Collaborate with other field-based functions such as health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), market access, and medical affairs to ensure alignment and consistency across field activities.


Qualifications:


  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, or PA) in a health sciences discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field-based medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong background in oncology; launch experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships with oncology KOLs and academic experts.
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with nurse educators, sales teams, and other field medical colleagues.
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret complex scientific data for both expert and lay audiences.
  • Travel requirement up to 50%, including overnight travel and occasional weekends.



Compensation: $220,000 - $260,000 (Depending on Experience)
