• Familiarity with state scope-of-practice and collaborative practice law

• Reliable availability for chart review and clinical questions

Preferred:

• Multi-state licensure (valuable for telehealth companies)

• Experience in the clinical setting being supervised (urgent care, primary care, etc.)

How It Works

Supervision arrangements are governed by state law, which varies widely: some states require close collaboration and chart co-signature, others allow more independent APP practice with lighter physician oversight. Compensation is often structured per APP per month, so physicians can supervise several providers across one or more organizations. Because much of the work is asynchronous chart review and availability by phone, it layers well onto clinical practice or other nonclinical roles.
