Provide professional medical services full-time to patients, including rounding and consultations in internal medicine. Collaborate with facility leadership and staff to develop and evaluate patient care policies, address clinical concerns, and ensure quality care. Perform administrative duties, maintain accurate medical records, and lead interdisciplinary team conferences.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide professional medical services on a full-time basis to patients of assigned hospital(s). Such services shall include those services which are customarily performed by physicians practicing in the specialty of internal medicine including, but not limited to rounding and consultations on patients.
- • Collaborate with the Facility’s leadership, staff, and other practitioners and consultants to help develop, implement and evaluate patient care policies and procedures that reflect current standards of practice.
- • Help facility to identify, evaluate and address/resolve medical and clinical concerns and issues that affect patient care, medical care or quality of life or are related to the provision of services by physicians and other licensed health care practitioners.
- • Performing prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards for such services.
- • Performance of administrative services may be reasonably required.
- • Responsible for preparation and maintenance of complete and accurate medical and other records in accordance with generally accepted medical practice and in compliance with mandated regulatory, legal and/or accrediting standards. Leading the interdisciplinary team conference, progress notes which include face-to-face visits, admission orders, reports, claims, and correspondence relating to the services and treatment rendered by Physician for or on behalf of Employer.
- • Patient Care: Conduct physical exams, take histories, diagnose and treat a wide range of adult diseases, manage chronic conditions, and provide preventive care.
- • Diagnosis & Treatment: Order/interpret tests, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and perform appropriate procedures.
- • Patient Education: Explain diagnoses, test results, treatment options, and advise on diet, hygiene, and lifestyle.
- • Coordination: Refer patients to specialists and coordinate integrated care.
- • Professional Development: Stay updated with medical research and participate in continuing education.
- • Assist with medical education as requested. This may include curriculum development, supervision and performance evaluations, daily rounds, lectures, demonstrations, informal discussions, and continuing education to attending Medical Staff, the nursing staff, and the therapy staff.
Required
- • Must possess M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
- • Must hold current state medical license.
- • Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Residency training program in Internal Medicine.
- • Current practice in Internal Medicine/Hospitalist
Preferred
- • Current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Osteopathic Association.
- • Prior experience as Medical Director/leadership preferred.
