The Regional Medical Director oversees clinical services for incarcerated populations in Baltimore's Pre-trial facilities, providing comprehensive medical direction to meet contract requirements. This role involves mentoring and supervising medical and utilization management teams, promoting quality medical care, and serving as the clinical expert and consultant within the contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide the clinical and utilization management direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements of the contract.
  • Mentor, clinically supervise and evaluate the team-delivered medical services for the patients at all facilities of the contract.
  • Mentor and evaluate the team-delivered utilization management process.
  • Promote the culture of quality medical care using evidence-based standard of care.
  • Establish directives, provide direction and/or attend meetings as requested.
  • Function as consultant for behavioral health staff and ancillary provider staff.
  • Provide indirect clinical services.
  • Serve as the contract’s clinical expert, provider resource, clinical and medical management leader, and clinical outcomes driver.
  • Represents correctional healthcare to the client and the contract’s providers.
Required
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
  • Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
  • Board certification/eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine required
  • Must show/be able to obtain active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
  • Ability to pass credentialing and background check

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.  

We are currently seeking a full-time Regional Medical Director to oversee clinical services provided to the incarcerated populations in the Pre-trial facilities located in Baltimore, Maryland.

This position will be headquartered at the Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center in downtown Baltimore.

The Regional Medical Director provides comprehensive medical direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements for the contract in collaboration with the Regional Operations Manager/Regional Vice President. This role will also include the following:

  • Provide the clinical and utilization management direction needed to meet the service delivery requirements of the contract.
  • Mentor, clinically supervise and evaluate the team-delivered medical services for the patients at all facilities of the contract.
  • Mentor and evaluate the team-delivered utilization management process.
  • Promote the culture of quality medical care using evidence-based standard of care.
  • Establish directives, provide direction and/or attend meetings as requested.  
  • Function as consultant for behavioral health staff and ancillary provider staff.
  • Provide indirect clinical services.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school required
  • Active and unrestricted MD/DO license or the ability to obtain one required
