This role supports driving data-driven decision-making, performance measurement, and digital innovation within Medical Affairs. It involves building and optimizing analytics, dashboards, KPIs, and digital tools to enhance Medical Affairs impact across the portfolio, working cross-functionally to deliver actionable insights and scalable digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- • Support the development and implementation of a Medical Affairs analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate, and Medical Affairs objectives.
- • Help to establish metrics, KPIs, and performance dashboards/reports to track, analyze, and enhance the strategic impact of Medical Affairs activities, including field medical and KOL engagements, congress participation and deliverables, advisory boards, publications, medical information inquiries, independent medical education, medical affairs websites, and insights generation.
- • Generate actionable insights to support Medical Affairs strategy and decision-making across TA, region, and portfolio.
- • Help to drive digital transformation within Medical Affairs, identifying and implementing innovative tools and platforms to enhance engagement, efficiency, and insights generation.
- • Support management and refinement of digital & software solutions, including CRM platforms, grants system, medical information, MLR systems, medical insights repositories, congress apps, website analytics, and AI-powered analytics tools.
- • Support automation of data collection, reporting, and visualization, ensuring seamless integration across systems.
- • Explore, and support implementation of, emerging technologies, such as machine learning, AI-driven analytics, and natural language processing, to optimize Medical Affairs decision-making.
- • Support the development of a structured approach to medical insights collection, synthesis, and reporting, ensuring insights from MSLs, congresses, advisory boards, medical information, and medical education programs inform strategic decisions.
- • Support the implementation of standardized processes for capturing and analyzing insights from external engagements and internal initiatives.
- • Partner with Medical Strategy, Field Medical, Commercial, and other functions to ensure insights are effectively translated into actions.
- • Work closely with Medical Affairs leadership, IT, Commercial, Clinical Development, and other functions to ensure data-driven decision-making.
- • Partner with Commercial Omnichannel leads to establish operations for utilizing omnichannel to enhance medical planning, including measuring changes in awareness, engagement, and education of stakeholders.
- • Support the development and presentation of quarterly business reviews, reports, and data narratives to senior leadership, showcasing Medical Affairs' impact.
- • Train Medical Affairs teams on best practices for analytics interpretation, insights capture, and digital tool utilization.
Required
- • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MS, or MBA) in a scientific, technical, or quantitative discipline.
- • 8+ years of experience in analytics, insights, or digital strategy and 4+ years of relevant experience within Medical Affairs, R&D, or Commercial functions in the biotech/pharma industry.
- • Strong experience in data analytics and visualization tools (Power BI, Databricks, SQL, Python), and KPI development.
- • Expertise in medical insights generation and strategic storytelling using data-driven approaches.
- • Knowledge of AI, machine learning, and digital transformation trends in Medical Affairs.
- • Proficiency with CRM and Medical Affairs tools (Veeva, DataVision, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and compelling visual narratives.
- • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration and change management.
Preferred
- • Prior experience supporting Medical Affairs in an oncology-focused organization.
- • Experience designing Medical Affairs operational dashboards.
- • Strong understanding of oncology, precision medicine, and targeted therapies.
- • Familiarity with real-world data, HEOR analytics, and medical informatics.
- • Experience working with external vendors, consultants, and technology partners.
- • Expertise in digital platforms for compliance tracking, document management, and governance reporting.
