Required
- • Completion of ACGME residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training gastroenterology

- • Candidate must have an interest in esophageal motility and clinical research

The Institute for Digestive Health and Liver Disease (IDHLD) is seeking an accredited GI fellowship trained person who is interested in GI motility disorders with a particular focus on esophageal disorders.
Responsibilities
The physician will work within the IDHLD and manage all aspects of patient care including evaluation, diagnosis, education and treatment of motility disorders under the supervision the director of neuro-gastroenterology & motility and will report to the director of IDHLD.
IDHLD has a fully established State-of-the-Art motility center with a support system to complement the center including experienced therapeutic endoscopists, nurses, dietician and surgeons. The IDHLD also has the following facilities or programs:
- ACGME accredited GI Fellowship Program
- State-of-the-Art Endoscopy Unit
- Established colorectal surgery and bariatric program
- Well run clinical research unit with a full time statistician
- Teaching affiliation with the University of Maryland School of Medicine
- Highly collegial, 13-physician, GI group comprised of general GIs, hepatologists, advanced endoscopists (capable of POEM, ESD), IBD-specialists, and colorectal surgeons.
- High demand motility practice as the only comprehensive, clinically accessible practice in the region
- Comprehensive established motility services including: Esophageal Manometry, ambulatory pH monitoring, breath testing (glucose, lactose, fructose, fructan, lactulose), anorectal manometry, biofeedback bowel retraining, and whole gut motility capsule (Smart Pill)
The selected candidate will have an opportunity to receive additional training at a center of their choice with mutual agreement.
Requirements
- Completion of ACGME residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training gastroenterology
