Perform medical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment to patients requiring urgent care services. Obtain health history, perform physical exams, order tests and diagnostic images, diagnose conditions, counsel patients on treatment plans, perform minor office procedures, prescribe medications, and refer patients to specialists as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- • Direct and coordinate the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- • Communicate with patients and family, when necessary, in the decision making process about treatment.
- • Maintain a current standards of acceptable Medical practice.
- • Perform all credentialed medical procedures according to professional standards.
- • Participate in staff outreach and off-site health care programs as directed by the TRUST.
- • Participate in educational programs specific to patient care.
- • Complete medical records in accord with TRUST Policies and Procedures, which includes documenting the appropriate level of care.
- • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- • Assist Medical Director in providing clinical leadership for the Uhealth Jackson Urgent Care Centers.
- • Assist Medical Director in developing best practice guidelines and protocols for the Uhealth Jackson Urgent Care Centers.
- • Mentor and develop the clinical staff.
- • Assists, implements and achieves the medical goals and objectives for the clinic/center of responsibility.
- • Ensures that all medical services meet or exceed standards required by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals and State of Florida Licensure requirements.
- • Directs activities in the area(s) assigned.
- • Monitors and evaluates present and future needs for medical/diagnostic services in the clinic/center of responsibility.
- • Promotes communication via scheduled meetings with administrative staff and medical care providers.
Required
- • Generally requires three (3) to (5) years of related experience.
- • MD or DO from accredited program.
- • Florida Clear/Active Medical License
- • DEA Licensure
- • Board Certified or Eligible - FM
- • Active BLS / ACLS through American Heart Association
Preferred
- • Residency Trained Family Medicine preferred.

(May cover shifts based on preference/need at our multiple Urgent Care sites all within Miami-Dade County)

Summary
Clinical Duties: Perform medical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment to patients requiring the medical services of an Urgent Care Physician. Obtain health history and perform physical examinations. Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to collect information on Patient's condition, as needed; Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment. Perform minor office based procedures to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body part and systems; and Prescribe pharmaceutical, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions, in compliance with Florida Statute and professional practice guidelines. Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
