Neurology Physician (AI Evaluation)

This role involves supporting the evaluation and improvement of health AI models by applying expert judgment to neurology-focused medical content. The position focuses on assessing AI safety, evidence quality, and clinical alignment within neurology, identifying failure modes, and ensuring accurate representation of neurology evidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply expert judgment to evaluate neurology-focused medical content
  • Contribute to structured evaluations used to assess AI safety, evidence quality, and clinical alignment
  • Identify and document failure modes and edge behaviors (e.g., misapplied risk scores, unsafe medication advice, inappropriate disposition)
  • Identify gaps or misalignment in how neurology evidence is represented
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and NDA compliance
Required
  • Clinical training in neurology or closely related fields
  • Board-certified or board-eligible neurologists
  • Neurology fellows or residents with strong publication experience
  • Active or recent involvement in neurology research and/or clinical practice
  • Familiarity with evidence-based neurology and guideline-driven care
  • Strong professional judgment and ability to articulate brief, concrete rationales
  • Interest in AI evaluation and responsible use of medical data
  • Reliable remote setup; comfort working asynchronously
Preferred
  • Training at strong academic medical centers or leading hospitals
  • Subspecialty expertise (e.g., vascular neurology, epilepsy, movement disorders, MS, neuromuscular, neurocritical care)
  • Regular engagement with the neurology literature (author, reviewer, or frequent reader)
  • Thoughtful, conservative approach to evidence quality and safety
  • Clear communicator with strong follow-through

Position Overview

Labela is seeking part-time neurology experts (MDs) to support the evaluation and improvement of health AI models, with a focus on how medical evidence is prioritized, interpreted, and trusted within neurology.


We’re particularly interested in neurologists with experience in one or more of the following areas:


  • Cerebrovascular disease
  • Epilepsy and seizure disorders
  • Neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, related dementias)
  • Neuroinflammatory and autoimmune disorders (MS, NMOSD, encephalitis)
  • Headache and pain disorders
  • Neuromuscular disease
  • Neurocritical care (ED/ICU exposure welcome)


Key Responsibilities
