This role involves conducting medical and scientific assessments, critically reviewing ingredients and products, and translating scientific data into meaningful consumer benefits. The Medical Affairs Manager supports commercialization activities, including advertising claims, new product opportunities, and provides medical guidance for product launches.
Key Responsibilities
- • Work with cross-functional teams (regulatory, legal, and marketing) to review and ensure the accuracy of promotional materials
- • Develop and substantiate claim language to be used in messaging, advertising, and other promotional materials based on competent and reliable scientific evidence (CARSE)
- • Assess and interpret efficacy, safety, and other aspects of scientific studies as well as other medical and scientific material and information
- • Provide medical guidance and scientific expertise for new product launches and existing products
- • Develop and present scientific training material for sales, marketing, and customer teams
- • Effectively communicate with the marketing/commercial groups as well as technical groups in identifying scientific insights
- • Attend scientific meetings to present data, gain insights, and provide scientific support at medical booths
- • Collaborate and build relationships with key opinion leaders
- • Draft and submit scientific publications
- • Assist with guidance and implementation of medical programs, such as clinical studies, continuing medical education, publications, and thought leader networks
Required
- • M.D. degree or Ph.D. degree in science or related scientific field
- • Thorough knowledge of sciences relevant to physiology, metabolism, nutritional biochemistry, and clinical research
- • Good understanding of the key pre-clinical and clinical trial design elements, including statistical considerations
- • Ability to interact collaboratively and influence colleagues at all levels within Bayer
- • Strong competencies in the interpretation of scientific data
- • Strong communication skills, oral and written, as well as interpersonal skills
Preferred
- • 2+ years of postgraduate training or experience in clinical research and development or medical affairs or related businesses

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

Additionally, you will translate science into differentiated, meaningful and relevant benefits to consumers within any space and support commercialization activities such as advertising claims, defense and new product opportunities for the category.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- M.D. degree or Ph.D. degree in science or related scientific field;
- Thorough knowledge of sciences relevant to physiology, metabolism, nutritional biochemistry, and clinical research;
- Good understanding of the key pre-clinical and clinical trial design elements, including statistical considerations;
- Ability to interact collaboratively and influence colleagues at all levels within Bayer;

- 2+ years of postgraduate training or experience in clinical research and development or medical affairs or related businesses.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $84,880.00 to $127,320.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
