This role focuses primarily on outpatient care with a small academic inpatient component within the Division of General Internal Medicine. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of internists, participate in clinical research opportunities, and be actively involved in teaching medical students and residents. Physicians with an interest in global health may engage with the expanding global health residency track.

- • For Associate Professor or Professor rank: excellent communication skills
- • For Associate Professor or Professor rank: publications in high-impact journals
- • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment

- • Special interest in global health for participation in global health residency track

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek General Internal Medicine physician qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
This position will focus primarily on outpatient care with a small academic inpatient component for the Division of General Internal Medicine. At WVU, you will collaborate with a team of over 25 outstanding and experienced internists. All subspecialties are present and available for consultation within the clinic and hospital. Opportunities also exist in clinical research. Physicians with a special interest in global health would have an opportunity to participate in our rapidly expanding global health residency track.
Duties: In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program.
Qualifications: applicants must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted state medical license. Candidate must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency program at the time of appointment. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, a demonstrated track-record of leadership, excellent communication skills, and publications in high-impact journals are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
