The role involves diagnosing and treating non-cancerous blood disorders in cancer patients and managing individuals with non-malignant blood conditions outside the cancer context. The candidate will engage in non-malignant hematology research and scholarly activities, lead and develop programs, and mentor young faculty, fellows, and trainees.

Required
- • Commitment to a career in benign or non-malignant hematology

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Section of Benign Hematology is recruiting for a clinical faculty member with commitment to a career in benign or non-malignant hematology.
Qualifications
Our team specializes in diagnosing and treating non-cancerous blood disorders in cancer patients, as well as assessing and managing individuals with non-malignant blood conditions outside the cancer context. Physicians with experience in clinical and/or basic science research, especially in cancer associated thrombosis, are strongly encouraged to apply. Candidates must show evidence of scholarly activity, scientific accomplishment, and skill in writing and communication. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in non-malignant hematology research and scholarly activity that will enhance the academic environment of the institution. The selected candidate will also be expected to become familiar with appropriate funding mechanisms to support cancer-related benign hematology research and to assist with mentoring young faculty, fellows, and other trainees, as applicable. The candidate will have protected time to lead and develop programs, perform research, and complete scholarly activities in keeping with the goals of the Section. Competitive compensation is offered commensurate with rank and qualifications. Faculty rank and protected research time will be provided consistent with experience and qualifications.
