Physician
The role supports physicians by providing resources such as supply chain expertise, technology training, contracting, credentialing, financial reporting, and communication to enable providers to focus on patient care. Physicians are expected to deliver services at or above customary practice standards, adhering to medical ethics and specialty standards.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide services at or above the customary practice standards in the Community.
- • Adhere to the standards and principles of medical ethics of the American Medical Association and all recognized associations or accrediting boards concerned with Physician’s area of medical specialty.
Required
- • Must have successfully completed a residency or fellowship commensurate with area of specialty.
- • Obtain and maintain an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Agency (“DEA”) registration.
- • Be board certified or eligible in the appropriate specialty, by a board acceptable to Hospital.
- • Obtain Medical Staff Privileges within the Health system, at sponsoring institution.
- • Doctorate MD or DO required.
- • Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state required.

Mercy Hospital is an 82 bed, acute care hospital located in the scenic southwestern Colorado town of Durango. It is the only hospital in Colorado to be rated by Medicare with five stars for overall hospital quality. It is recognized for excellence in orthopedic and spine surgery and for outstanding patient experience and patient safety. Pay Range
$500,000 - $550,000 /year
