Full-Time Biomedical Science Faculty, College of Osteopathic Medicine

Required
  • Terminal degree in discipline related to medical education (PhD, MD, DO, PharmD) is required.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity.
  • 1-3 years of experience in higher education.
Preferred
  • Experience teaching at a medical education preferred.

About

The proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine at Xavier University (XUCOM) invites applications for full-time, 12-month inaugural Biomedical Science Faculty positions beginning Summer 2026. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new medical school from the ground up with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary education, community engagement, and academic excellence. Candidates should be passionate about medical education and ready to contribute to an integrated, systems-based curriculum that emphasizes active learning, clinical relevance, and interprofessional collaboration. We are seeking multiple full-time faculty members including but not limited to the following disciplines:

  • Anatomy (including Gross Anatomy and Histology)
  • Physiology
  • Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
  • Microbiology & Immunology
  • Pharmacology
  • Pathology

Duties & Responsibilities

Research and Scholarly Activities

  • Engage in scholarly activity, including research, curriculum innovation, and educational scholarship.

Service

  • Participate in service to the college, such as committee work, accreditation preparation, and community engagement.

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in discipline related to medical education (PhD, MD, DO, PharmD) is required.
  • Evidence of scholarly activity.
  • 1-3 years of experience in higher education.
  • Experience teaching at a medical education preferred.

Rank & Appointment

Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. Options for tenure or non-tenure track are available.

This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position.
