Neonatology Position in Burlington, Vermont

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine is seeking a board certified or board eligible neonatologist to join the Division of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine and Golisano Children’s Hospital at University of Vermont Health. Clinical responsibilities include providing complete inpatient neonatology services, on-call coverage, and outpatient consultative services for high-risk deliveries. Academic responsibilities include teaching and supervision of neonatology fellows, pediatric residents, and advanced practice providers, with opportunities for research, quality improvement, and educational scholarship. The position is a 0.75 FTE as an Assistant or Associate Professor on the non-tenure clinical scholar pathway with an anticipated starting date September 1, 2026.

The mission of our Division of Neonatology is to provide compassionate, equitable, evidence-based care for infants and their families while advancing the field of neonatology through innovative research and education. We provide a full spectrum of clinical neonatology services for a 23-bed level 3 regional perinatal center intensive care unit and a 9-bed step down unit, both located within the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont. We are a member of the Vermont Oxford Network (VON) and have actively participated in VON-based quality improvement initiatives over many years.

Our division includes an ACGME-accredited neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship program, training fellows through an emphasis on clinical care of critically ill newborns, research, and teaching. Research interests of our division include global neonatal health, neonatal opiate withdrawal syndrome, high-risk infant follow-up outcomes and developmental screening, quality improvement in clinical care delivery, and regional perinatal outreach education.

Anticipated Pay Range

The Anticipated Salary Ranges For This Position Are

Assistant Professor: $190,000 – $200,000

Associate Professor: $200,000 – $220,000

The referenced salary ranges reflect the combined total range based on dual employment by both the University of Vermont and University of Vermont Health. The salary ranges do not include all components of compensation. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary ranges stated herein.
