Executive Vice President, Medical Leadership
The SVP, Chief Medical Officer, plans, organizes, and directs all medical, dental, clinical, nursing, behavioral health, and health education services to ensure quality, patient-centric, appropriate, timely, safe, and cost-effective care. This role oversees Total Quality Management, Peer Review, medical management review of clinical UM/case management/claims transactions, medical education, research, and health education programs. The position may also involve practicing and providing medical services at one or more sites.
Key Responsibilities
- • Plan, organize, and direct all AltaMed Health Services Corporation (AHSC) medical/dental/clinical/nursing/behavioral health/health education services
- • Ensure quality, patient-centric, appropriate, timely, safe, and cost-effective care
- • Responsible for AHSC's Total Quality Management
- • Responsible for Peer Review
- • Responsible for medical management review of clinical UM/case management/claims transactions
- • Responsible for medical education
- • Responsible for research including AltaMed Institute of Health Equity & Medical Education
- • Responsible for health education Programs
- • May practice and provide medical services at one or more of AltaMed’s sites
Required
- • Physician with an active, unrestrictive CA license to practice medicine by the Medical Board of California
- • A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines
Preferred
- • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- • Medical group management experience is highly preferred
