Director of Clinical Development

The Director of Clinical Development supports the design, execution, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of clinical studies, focusing on inflammation and oncology clinical and translational projects. The role involves planning and directing clinical trials, medical monitoring, and collaborating on exploratory pharmacodynamic, diagnostic, and biomarker plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical strategic input for inflammation and oncology clinical and translational projects
  • Supports the planning, organization, and direction of the activities of inflammation, oncology and related clinical trials, including development of clinical protocols and amendments, investigator brochures, and clinical study reports
  • Participates in medical monitoring support, including evaluation of safety, pharmacology and efficacy of ongoing and completed studies
  • Assists with the establishment and implementation of exploratory pharmacodynamic, diagnostic, and biomarker plans in conjunction with partners in clinical pharmacology and diagnostics/biomarkers
  • May interact with external thought leaders, including advisory boards, to support clinical and translational development
  • May prepare or participate in literature reviews and publications as appropriate
Required
  • At least 2 years of medical/clinical scientist experience and/or MD or PhD with experience or specialization in an inflammation or oncology field
  • Ability to communicate efficiently with preclinical, biomarker, biostatistical and computational scientists, as well as clinical and commercial colleagues who may be outsourced and/or remote
  • Ability to explain medical and scientific technical issues to technical and non-technical staff
  • Proven experience implementing and conducting clinical trials
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal colleagues and external contacts, including key thought leaders, and investigators
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in teams in a cross functional manner
  • Ability to communicate and work independently with scientific/technical personnel with excellent oral presentation skills
  • Ability to think critically, and demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
Preferred
  • At least 5 years clinical research experience is preferred, particularly in drug development

About The Role

As the Director of Clinical Development, you will be responsible for supporting the design, execution, analysis, interpretation and presentation of clinical studies. Supports and may participate in the development and execution of strategies for new product development and lifecycle growth, including regulatory and investigator interactions as applicable.
