Provide comprehensive primary care to adult patients with specialization in HIV/AIDS or Substance Use Disorder treatment and management. Participate actively in resident and medical student education, focusing on HIV or SUD care, infectious diseases, and primary care for high-risk populations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic and integrated care.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide primary care services to adult patients 18 years of age or older with specialization in HIV/AIDS or SUD treatment and management.
- • Diagnose and manage complications and co-existing conditions such as hepatitis, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic disorders.
- • Supervise and mentor residents in an outpatient setting.
- • Lead didactic sessions, case discussions, and hands-on clinical training focused on HIV or SUD care, infectious diseases, and primary care for high-risk populations.
- • Provide comprehensive chronic disease management for chronic conditions such as but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia.
- • Conduct routine health screenings, vaccinations, and mental health assessments to support whole-patient wellness.
- • Work closely with other providers, pharmacists, case managers, and social workers to provide holistic and integrated care.
Required
- • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- • Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- • Current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Texas or be able to obtain
- • Registered and have current DEA, DPS and other such certificates to legally operate as a practitioner in the State of Texas or be able to obtain
- • Have excellent patient engagement, strong communication skills and an eye for continuous improvement
- • Experience serving multicultural and multilingual patient populations
- • Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar
- • MS Office Suite skills (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- • Have a servant heart with the desire to make a positive impact in the community
Preferred
- • Applicable certification or significant experience in HIV or SUD care preferred
- • Experience in resident and medical student education helpful
- • Background in Ryan White-funded programs, LGBTQ+ healthcare, or underserved populations is highly desirable

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Internal Medicine physician with expertise in HIV or Substance Abuse Disorder care and treatment to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive primary care with special emphasis on HIV or SUD prevention and management and actively participate in resident and medical student education. This role requires a patient-centered approach, strong clinical acumen, and a commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations.
Here's a sneak peek at what you'll do:

What you need to succeed
