Provides comprehensive dermatologic services as an independent healthcare provider, managing direct patient care including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment. The role involves prescribing medications, monitoring patient progress, referring to specialists, and potentially managing daily operations of medical programs or patient care units.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
- • Prescribes or administers pharmaceuticals, other medications, immunizations, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- • Provides health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- • Monitors patients' conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments, and explains procedures and test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
- • Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- • May manage the daily operations of a specific medical program, patient care unit, or research function.
- • Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- • As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
- • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- • Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values
- • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
Required
- • Board certification or eligibility in dermatology and/or dermatopathology
- • Medical doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
- • Federal DEA Certification: Medical Specialty License or Certification, Board Certified or Board eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
- • Medical Doctor or Doctor in Osteopathic Medicine

Vail Health-Colorado Mountain Medical is seeking a board-certified dermatologist to join our team in beautiful Avon, Colorado.
The ideal candidate should have experience in general dermatology, with an interest in championing service line growth.
