Key Responsibilities

• • Examining patients that may need to undergo physical therapy.
• • Diagnosing pain as a result of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition.
• • Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients.
• • Recommending and performing various medical procedures, such as trigger point injections, soft tissue, and joint injections to treat pain and improve physical functioning.
• • Leading a team of medical professionals, including physical therapists, in order to optimize patient care.
• • Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.
• • Performs or monitors the performance of electrodiagnostic testing (EMG - NCV).
• • Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes.
• • Orders clinically appropriate testing such as X-rays, Cat Scans Ultrasounds and MRIs.
• • Recommends consultation with orthopedists, neurologist, psychologists, spine specialists and pain management.
• • Performing initial evaluations to determine a patient’s need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process.
• • Conducting periodic re-evaluations of patients to determine progress and for change or discontinuance of treatment.
• • Prescribes appropriate orthotic devices as clinically indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices.
• • Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients’ progress.
• • Documents ranges of motion with a handheld goniometer.
• • Performs other duties as requested.
