Malignant Hematologist Physician - AdventHealth Cancer Institute - Orlando, Florida

Physicians will join a well-established hematology malignancies program specializing in acute leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, stem cell transplant, and cellular therapies. The role involves participation in a FACT-accredited transplant program performing 130-150 transplants annually, offering FDA-approved CAR-T therapies, and engaging in clinical and translational research with dedicated support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the management and treatment of heme malignancies including acute leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma
  • Perform and manage allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants
  • Engage in cellular therapy treatments including FDA approved CAR-T therapies
  • Participate in cooperative group and industry-sponsored clinical trials with clinical research staff support
  • Contribute to translational and basic science research programs
Required
  • Board certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology
  • Trained and experienced in allogeneic stem cell transplants

  • Well established program that has continuously maintained FACT-accreditation for more than 10 years
  • FDA-registered, FACT and CAP-accredited cellular therapy lab, with plans to acquire GMP capability in near future.
  • Performed more than 1500 transplants so far, including autologous and allogeneic
  • Performing approximately 130 - 150 transplants annually
  • Offering multiple FDA approved CAR-T therapies for lymphoma and myeloma
  • Our outcomes have continuously met or exceeded the national average over the last 10 years.
  • New, state-of-the-art in-patient (32-bed ICU-compatible rooms) as well as out-patient facilities
  • Active participation in cooperative group as well as industry-sponsored clinical trials with dedicated clinical research staff support. This includes a robust cellular therapy research program.
  • All physicians supported with adequately staffed team including 12 APPs (APRNs and PAs), 6 coordinators, 3 clinical pharmacists and administrative assistance.
  • 4 experienced hematopathologists with in-house molecular testing including NGS

Hospital Description

AdventHealth Orlando is our 1,364 bed tertiary facility with close to 160 ICU beds. It is at the center of eight other hospitals around the greater Orlando area, which total approximately 3,000 beds.
