This role involves providing pulmonary and critical care services including outpatient pulmonary clinic operations, hospital consultation, and intensive care unit coverage. The physician will perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as robotic bronchoscopy and interventional bronchoscopy, and provide both primary ICU care and consultative services in a multi-physician practice setting.
Key Responsibilities
- • Perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable), evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultative services to patients with pulmonary conditions.
- • Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
- • Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
- • Operate pulmonary clinic 5 days/week.
- • Provide hospital consultation service in partnership with an APP.
- • Perform procedures including ION Robotic Bronchoscopy / EBUS; Interventional Bronchoscopy APC/Cryo and stenting.
- • Cover 2 ICUs 24/7 with 45 ICU beds, providing both primary ICU care and consultative services.
Required
- • M.D. or D.O. degree.
- • Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program.
- • Completion of a fellowship program in Pulmonary Disease accredited by ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of ABMS, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or eligibility to achieve board certification within five years of fellowship completion.
- • Demonstrated experience with at least 50 pulmonary disease cases in the last 12 months via fellowship log, hospital quality profile, or clinical practice documentation.

Sanford Health has an immediate opening for a BC/BE Pulmonary/Critical Medicine Physician to join a well-established practice in Fargo, North Dakota consisting of 5 Pulmonology/Critical Care Physicians and 4 Physician Assistants.Pulmonary:
• Pulmonary Clinic operates 5 days/week
• Pulmonologists provide hospital consultation service, in partnership with an APP
• Pulmonary lab is in same location as clinic
• ION Robotic Bronchoscopy / EBUS; Interventional Bronchoscopy APC/Cryo and stenting
Critical Care Medicine:
• Critical Care Medicine covers 2 ICUs 24/7; 45 ICU beds
• Three intensivists on during the day and a fourth one on at night

Job Description
Pulmonary Disease Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose treat and provide consultative services to patients of all ages presenting with conditions, disorders, and diseases of the lungs and airways. Pulmonologists may provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies. They may assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree.Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed fellowship shall provide his/her log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 50 pulmonary disease cases in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinic activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 pulmonary disease cases in clinical practice in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program, followed by the completion of a fellowship program in Pulmonary Disease that is accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)
